Shooting for beginners –
you don't need to know anything to start
Never held a firearm before? That's the ideal starting point – no bad habits to unlearn. Our instructors teach from scratch. Safely, without pressure, 30 minutes from Wrocław.
Myths about shooting that put people off for no reason
Most people put off a visit to the range because of beliefs that simply are not true.
What does a first visit to the range look like?
Step by step – from arriving to leaving with a certificate.
Arrival and welcome
You arrive and park for free. An instructor greets you and shows you around the range. No formalities, no paperwork.
Safety briefing (15–20 min)
Before you go to a lane there is a compulsory, detailed briefing. Safety rules, handling the firearm, what you may and may not do. It is the foundation for everything that follows.
Your first time at the lane
The instructor shows you the correct grip, stance and aim. Your first shots may be rushed – that is normal. The instructor watches over you and corrects as you go.
Shooting a 9mm pistol
Series after series. With each one your control, focus and results improve. You can see it within a single session.
Optional: 5.56mm rifle
For anyone who wants to feel the difference – a rifle is another experience entirely. A longer range, a different calibre, a different kind of focus. Available in the Premium package.
Certificate and debrief
At the end, a personalised certificate of participation and a short debrief with your instructor. What went well and what to work on next time.
What will you learn in your first session?
One visit gives you more than you might think. Here is what you take away from a first beginners' session:
- How to handle a firearm safely – for life, not just at the range
- The correct grip for a handgun (pistol) or a long gun (rifle)
- The basics of shooting stance – feet, legs, hips, shoulders
- Aiming technique – how to use the front and rear sights
- Breathing and the moment of trigger release – the key to accuracy
- Managing recoil and getting back on target
- How to conduct yourself on a range – a skill that stays with you for life
Who is beginners' shooting for?
Curious but unsure
You have heard about shooting but had no idea where to start. This is exactly the place – the instructor takes you by the hand.
Couples looking for something new
A shooting session together is an original idea for a date or a shared adventure. You both start from zero – an even playing field.
People in their 40s and 50s
There is no upper age limit in shooting. Plenty of people start in their forties – and only regret not starting sooner.
Women
Stereotypes do not survive at the range. Women often turn out to be more accurate shooters than men – especially right at the start.
Young adults (18+)
Adrenaline, focus and a real skill, all in one session. The ideal activity for an age when you are after new experiences.
Anyone who is simply curious
Curiosity is a good enough reason. You do not need to justify yourself. "I wanted to see what it's like" is perfectly enough.
Safety – priority number one
Especially for people with no experience, safety is the number one subject at our range.
A briefing before your first shot
Nobody goes to a lane without a full briefing. That rule is absolute – whoever has come and whatever they think they already know.
An instructor at every lane
For anyone without experience, an instructor stands with you for the whole session. Correction, support and safety in one.
Protective equipment for everyone
Ear defenders and safety glasses are compulsory for every participant. No exceptions.
A certified range
ASC Domaniów is a certified facility with full safety infrastructure. Professional lanes, a backstop and complete technical support.
Beginners' questions – the most common ones
Can I come with no experience at all?
Yes. That is the norm, not the exception. The vast majority of guests at ASC Domaniów are visiting for the first time in their lives. The instructor starts from the absolute basics – we assume nothing.
Do I need a firearms licence?
No. Shooting at a sport range under instructor supervision does not require a firearms licence. The only requirements are being over 18 and sober.
Is shooting safe for someone who has never held a firearm?
Yes. Shooting under the supervision of a certified instructor is a safe activity. All the risks are managed through safety procedures and the instructor's presence. Accidents at certified ranges with instructor supervision are rare.
How much does a first visit cost?
The basic package starts at PLN 70 per person – a 9mm pistol, 25 rounds, the briefing and a certificate. Extended options with a rifle and more ammunition are available from PLN 120. The full price list is on our pricing page.
Can I come with friends who already have experience?
Of course. Experienced shooters can come along with beginners – the instructor adapts the level to each participant individually. Mixed groups are standard here.
